🌟 Discovering the Power of 5 Daily Prayers – My True Islamic Turning Point
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah dear brothers and sisters! 🤍 Today, I want to share something very personal — how I went from missing almost every salah to praying 5 times a day, every day, with love, not pressure. If you’re struggling to start or stay consistent, I feel you. And I’m here, as a brother, to walk you through it inshaAllah. ✨
🕋 My Turning Point – From Neglect to Nearness
I was once one of those who felt guilty every time I heard the adhan and still didn’t move. One day, I heard a khutbah where the Imam said: “If prayer is a burden, your heart is sick. Salah is supposed to heal.” That hit me hard. I realized I wasn’t late on salah… I was late in my relationship with Allah.
1️⃣ Step One: I Focused on Just One Prayer
I didn’t jump straight to 5 — I picked Fajr first. 🌅 I made it my mission. Even if I missed it by 10 minutes, I’d pray it. No excuses. And slowly, something changed inside me. I started feeling strong just by doing this one act.
2️⃣ Step Two: I Made Du’a for Discipline
I asked Allah in sujood: “Ya Allah, I’m weak. Help me love salah. Make it easy for me.” And subhanAllah, it worked. I truly believe that when we ask sincerely, Allah opens ways we didn’t even imagine.
3️⃣ Step Three: I Set Alarms with Azaan App
I downloaded an adhan app 📲 and made sure I didn’t hit “snooze.” My phone became my salah buddy instead of a distraction. I also stopped delaying once I heard the adhan — even if I was doing something fun.
4️⃣ Step Four: I Started Tracking with a Simple Chart 📋
I made a chart in my notebook: Fajr ✅ Dhuhr ✅ Asr ❌... It worked wonders! I didn’t want to see ❌. It became a personal game, and I grew competitive with myself — in a good way.
5️⃣ Step Five: I Learned What Salah Meant 💭
When I understood what I was saying in Surah Al-Fatiha, the tashahhud, the takbir... I cried. 😢 Salah wasn’t just a duty — it was a dialogue. I was standing before the King of kings! Who else would care to hear from me five times a day?
🌺 How It Feels Now (Alhamdulillah)
I no longer pray just out of obligation. I wait for salah. When life gets heavy, I just say: “I’ll talk to Allah now.” 😌 The feeling after a full day of 5 prayers is... *pure joy and peace*. I never want to go back to those empty days without them.
🤲 My Advice to You, My Brother or Sister
- Pick one salah and protect it fiercely.
- Make du’a sincerely. Don’t underestimate it.
- Use apps or reminders that suit you.
- Learn the meaning of the words you say.
- Pray even if you feel lazy — don’t wait to feel “ready.”
May Allah guide you, strengthen you, and make you from the Musalleen — those who protect their salah with love. Ameen. 💚
